LATEST UPDATE

Further to my post yesterday about Dolce & Gabbana's latest campaign videos aimed at the Chinese market, it would seem that someone (or some group) have taken matters into their own hands and have hacked D&G Instagram account.

A post confirming the hack was made on @Dolcegabbana early this morning. It reads:

"Our Instagram account has been hacked. So has the account of Stefano Gabbana. Our legal office is urgently investigating. We are very sorry for any distress caused by these unauthorized posts, comments and direct messages. We have nothing but respect for China and the people of China."

This post seems to be

in response to a series of misleading or "fake" messages being posted online which the brand claims it is not responsible for.  This is damage limitation.

In today’s global online world, this shows you the importance of local respect and the power that consumers have to hold a brand to account.

At the time of posting, the videos causing the controversy are still available.  Will the brand stand behind them?
